These were our basic objectives at ATI when we set out to create a high performance, low cost centrifugal supercharger kit for carbureted applications. The result of this effort is the new standard for centrifugal supercharging: The Universal ProCharger™, Using a revolutionary patented approach to superchargerattachment and drive, the Universal ProCharger™ has been designed to actually bolt directly to the factory A6 air conditioning compressor brackets, which were used in millions of GM and Ford vehicles from the early 60's through the early 80's. The Universal ProCharger™ is a high performance, low cost, easily installed underhood supercharger kit for carbureted applications - the only carbureted underbood kit which is capable of meeting the airflow requirements demanded by both big block and small block applications.

Forced induction will deliver substantially more horsepower on pump gas than with any other solution. Of the aftermarket forced induction options, centrifugal supercharging delivers the best combination of performance and reliability for the money. Roots superchargers are cumbersome, inefficient and relatively unreliable, while turbocharging is far more complex, temperamental and expensive. Roots blowers are basically impractical for street use, as their significant parasitic load decreases net horsepower gain for racing and brings street fuel economy to a new low, not to mention the need to cut a hole through your hood.

THE PROCHARGER

The ProCharger is a highly efficient centrifugal supercharger which features a precision gear drive, super precision bearings, oil-mist lubrication, full CNC machining, aircraft quality tolerances and an optional 7075 T-6 billet impeller To support our design objectives, the ProCharger features more throat area, a larger volume and a super high flow impeller which all combine to deliver airflow comparable to that of others' "upgraded" blowers. The bulletproof gear drive means that the ProCharger is able to use smaller pulleys to generate up to 20 psi of boost and horsepower increases of 100% and more for racing applications. This unit is definitely not maxed out. Despite having the most rugged transmission on the market, the ProCharger also offers the most compact design of any centrifugal blower, allowing underhood placement in more vehicles than ever before. The ProCharger also offers the greatest efficiency (adiabatic and mechanical) of any supercharger available for carbureted applications.

THE UNIVERSAL APPROACH

The objective for the Universal Kit is to take all vehicles which are compatible with factory A6 a/c bracketing, and provide 90% of these vehicles with a high performance, low cost supercharger kit which is at least 90% complete. For many applications, the Universal kit will be 100% complete and ready to go. Some applications will require a little effort and/or creativity on the part of the owner to close that final 10%. The trade-off for this effort on your part is a great price - essentially half the price of other systems!
